Service & Leadership Opportunities

FAQs
Service Unit Opps
  -  Community Opps - General Opps - Council Opps

 FAQs
Who can participate in these leadership & service opportunities?
If a particular age-level of volunteer is needed, that will be indicated, otherwise the projects are open to all age levels.  Preference will be given to Junior, Cadette, and Senior Girl Scouts working toward recognitions.

Can Brownie Girl Scouts participate?
Yes, if the troop leader determines that the girls are mature enough to take on a major role in the project.  Be careful not to overwhelm them.  Make sure that it is a positive experience...remember, there is no rush...they will be Juniors, Cadettes, and Seniors BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!!!

Reminder to Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts
Gold and Silver awards submitted after September 30, 2006 MUST use the new format.

Contact the volunteer coordinator, Jackie, on Tuesdays or Thursdays.  Make sure to inform her that you are with the Girl Scouts and wish to volunteer.  They typically do not allow youth to volunteer because most come without reliable supervision.  So when you volunteer here...PLEASE follow through with supervision of your girls.
Strict policy is in place about age limits to volunteer with animals: 16 years and over (do not ask for exceptions!).
Most volunteer opportunities will involve clerical (like helping to fold their newsletter for mailing) or collection (running a service project to collect items for the shelter).  Several times a year they may need help with events.  Check out their website for current details.
